You’re probably wondering why tiny? It all began with a magazine and a dream. Nearly twelve years ago I was dreaming of the future and trying to envision what life could substantially look like. I can honestly say I don’t know how the dream was sparked (probably through HGTV…let’s be honest…) and I thought… I can do that! Fast forward when in church, a man heard that I was thinking of going tiny and gave me a magazine, full of tiny homes…blue prints and ideas. And so it began. For the next ten years I would read, I would dream, I would pray. I loved the idea of going tiny for two reasons:1.) Minimalism. Minimalism financially but also substantially. I’ve always loved the idea of downsizing and maintaining a small footprint. However, I also always wanted my own place. I never liked the idea of a lot of bills (which also includes utilizes. So I knew in my house I wanted it to be 100% sustainable off the grid. 2.) Maintainability. Let’s be honest, while I know how to do a few things, I’m not Betty the Buccaneer slaying trees and building from hand. Lord only knows if I’ll be single my entire life, so I knew that I wanted something I could maintain on my own. So for ten years, I dreamed. I knocked on a lot of doors but it wasn’t until February of 2021 that the door opened. In February 2021 I was offered a full time therapy job in PA and it seemed that the timing was right. I prayed and followed google. Google led me to Norman Yoder with https://www.whistlingpinehomes.com/. One phone call and I was on my way. The story can get complicated from here, so I won’t bore you with the details. But I solidified my plans in April of 2021 and the dream was signed on the dotted line.
